Contraindications: When is Massage Unsuitable
For the sake of the health and wellbeing of my clients, I never massage someone with the following contraindications:

Cardiovascular conditions (e.g. thrombosis, phlebitis, hypertension, hypotension, heart conditions),

Epilepsy,

After recent operations (recovery times will vary and can be long — seek medical advice),

Hemophilia,

Bell’s palsy,

Kidney infections,

Whiplash,

Slipped disk,

Cervical spondylitis,

Cervical spondylosis,

Hernia,

Hematoma,

Diarrhea,

Vomiting,

Fever,

Under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs,

Any dysfunction of the nervous system (e.g. muscular sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease),

Trapped/pinched nerve (e.g. sciatica),

Spastic conditions,

Rheumatism,

Gastric ulcers,

Skin diseases,

Undiagnosed pain,

Undiagnosed lumps or bumps,

Any condition affecting the neck,

Any other medical condition already being treated by a doctor or another complementary practitioner, any other unlisted medical condition.
